Indiana, Cottesloe Beach

Perth’s premier coastal venue, Indiana, is located directly on Cottesloe Beach and seems to rise effortlessly from the beach sand. Indiana offers uninterrupted views from every window, with all areas commanding views of the Indian Ocean and the magnificent sunsets beyond Rottnest Island.

Named after the original Indiana Tea House built in 1910, the iconic building has become an internationally recognised landmark. Because it showcases the best Perth has to offer, it’s the perfect place to hold a function and entertain visiting guests.

Events of almost any size are welcome at Indiana’s, which offers both exclusive and non-exclusive use of the venue (exclusive meaning you have the whole place to yourself). For larger functions like corporate events and weddings, the venue can be configured to seat 120 people, or hold up to 300 cocktail-style.

Spring 2009 renovations saw Indiana re-open as a Modern Beach Bistro, with a fresh ‘Beach House’ look. Think: clean lines, cool white walls, bright stripes, coloured cushions, deckchairs... Contemporary weddings and events are a focus of the makeover; Indiana is perfect for modern functions where the the organisers require a format that offers something a little different'. Its spaces really have to be seen to appreciate Indiana’s full potential.

Private Ocean Room

Indiana now offers the exclusive 'Private Ocean Room', which stretches along the northern side of the building and offers sweeping vistas of Cottesloe Beach and the Indian Ocean.
 This stunning space can be hired for a sit-down function or a stand-up cocktail-style event.  The Private Ocean Room really has to be seen to be believed.

The space can seat a maximum of 25 guests or 40 guests for a cocktail-style function. There is a room hire fee of $300 for this exclusive space. Minimum spends may apply, depending on the time of year and week your event is held.

This seriously spectacular room has sliding window panels that open out, allowing only fresh coastal air between you and Cottesloe Beach.

Timber floors and sleek pull-down blinds can be used to block off this space for exclusive events. Theming is easy as the crisp white walls and large windows act like a blank canvas for your choice of colours or decorations. The space is approx 22m in length, and approx 3.5m wide, with a ceiling that is approx 3m high.

The Pavillion

The main function area in the middle of Indiana is called 'The Pavillion', and it offers undeviating views of the Indiana Ocean. The ceilings are approx 12m high and the vast windows include several beautiful decorative stained glass panels. This area can seat 50 guests, or 80 for a cocktail-style function.

The Company: Named after the original Indiana Tea House built in 1910, this spectacular building has become synonymous with Cottesloe Beach and is recognised both interstate and internationally. Indiana underwent extensive refurbishments (spring 2009) and now bright and open with a contemporary ‘beach house’ look.

The Facilities: Depending on the size of your function, you can book individual tables or hire the entire restaurant on application. The impressive Private Ocean Room is also available for smaller groups.

The Food: Head chef Ben davies designs the a la carte menu seasonally in conjunction with sister venue Fraser’s head chef Chris Taylor. The cuisine is modern Australian with a focus on fresh, local produce and ‘beachy’ share food.

The Beverages: An abundance of Australian and international wines is on offer. Indiana offers its own specially-brewed tap beers (Beach Belle and The Doctor). The extensive international beer list is complemented by premium spirits and cocktails.
